It all started when…
For the last twenty five years Southeastern’s campus has been without a Chi Alpha, but this Fall that changes! We will be pioneering Chi Alpha on Southeastern’s campus, with the vision that God is going to radically change an entire campus for the cause of Christ. At Chi Alpha we believe in real discipleship through our small group weekly meetings, as well as real community that we find in large group worship settings and frequent hang outs. When we look at Southeastern’s campus we believe that God is going to grab ahold of countless students and give them hope, passion, and purpose found through the Gospel. Austin and Katherine Howenstine serve as lead pastors in Southeastern Chi Alpha. Darren Poullard and Julia Angelo serve on full time staff. This team cannot wait to meet you, and go through life with you.

Austin and katherine howenstine
Austin and Katherine both graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2020. They were both involved with Chi Alpha at UL for all four years as a student, and was where they both started to go all in for Jesus. Katherine works as a NICU nurse, and Austin will be working full time on Southeastern’s campus with Chi Alpha. Austin went through the Chi Alpha internship at UL, and served on staff at their Chi Alpha for one year after that. Austin and Katherine are expecting a baby boy, coming in September of 2022!
